A few hours later, John cooks a bunch of pastries in the oven for the family to eat for breakfast. He enjoys being able to provide them with a warm meal in the morning or evening, whichever works out best with everyone and the times they’re hungry.
Lucy is learning the hard lesson of what happens when you ignore work to go play. She has a lot of homework she has to quickly do before school! This causes her to not have much fun at the start of her day, and she is also a little hungry. She misses out on the family breakfast and her portion was stored in the fridge so someone could eat it later.
After Lucy left, John begins working on the house again. Each day he plans to keep up with the cleaning and upkeep while Jennifer (normally) works. For now though, he’s content to let her rest so she isn’t too over stressed with the baby.
Jennifer may be on maternity leave now that she’s pregnant, but that doesn’t stop her. She spends her morning practicing her skills in the mirror so she can be more fluent at work. She knows they’ll be very happy when she comes back to work with her new skill, and she’s hoping for a promotion.
That afternoon John and Jennifer enjoy some soup, and Lucy comes in so happy and excited. Her grades are excellent! She already has an A. She knows with a little more push she can make it into that A+ she’s been dreaming about!
That evening, John takes time to help Lucy with her homework. If she wants to be as dedicated as she is, he sees no reason not to encourage it. Jennifer is so happy that her daughter is prospering in school, and if she wasn’t on bed rest, she would be jumping at the chance to help her further herself in school.
The next morning, Jennifer wakes up and immediately runs to the bathroom. She pukes her guts out.
Lucy gets ready and heads out the door for her first day of school, loving her private school uniform and how it makes her look. She feels fancy and sophisticated!
John hangs around at home for the day, cleaning what needs to be cleaned and also taking note of the rain.
Lucy brings a friend home from school and they play games for hours. Catching the ball and playing tag! Shortly after 6pm, her friend has to leave and they head home.
Poor Jennifer had a tough day at work with little sleep, so while she’s eating her sandwich, she faceplants right into it.
She ends up in bed for a few hours before she’s woken up with some news. She’s pregnant and her belly is growing! She still hasn’t eaten since earlier either, opting to just get sleep while she could, so she uncomfortably makes her way to the kitchen to get something in her stomach.
The Burb family is next on my list! They move into the home next door to Brandi Broke. They don’t have many simoleans, but they’re city folk who wanted to move back to the suburbs. John immediately wants to have another baby, while Jennifer is more career oriented and wants to get a job in the Business track. Little Lucy wants to work on her skills.
Jennifer looks in the newpaper that was delivered today, but she doesn’t find any business jobs. Thankfully Mr. Humble came by recently and dropped off a present. With the brand new computer from him, they set one up and she starts looking online for new jobs.
Jennifer finds a job in the Business track, and rather than enjoy the rest of her day home, she decides to get going to work then and there. A little extra cash and an impression as a hard worker never hurt anyone! So she walks off to work, leaving John at home to care for Lucy.
Soon after Jennifer left, Brandi Broke, Darren Dreamer, and Nina Caliente all come over to welcome the new family to the neighborhood.
John and Nina really don’t get along. She begins to badger and poke him which leaves him crying. He decides she isn’t worth having over so he asks her to leave. Brandi and Darren stay though. John gets along well with Brandi, and Lucy enjoys her discussions with Darren.
Later that night, when Jennifer gets home from work, she tells the family that she wants to try and get Lucy into private school before she starts tomorrow. That way she won’t have to adjust to a new school twice. She feels private school will be a much better option for her child than regular public school. John doesn’t really have a preference either way, he just wants Lucy to be happy wherever she goes.
The headmaster comes over for the visit and has a tour of the house. He enjoys seeing it. Afterwards, he has some of John’s Grandma’s Comfort Soup for dinner. Jennifer then talks with him for the remainder of his visit. He seems impressed that they put so much together in such a short time, having only moved in earlier that day. He agrees that Lucy would do well at private school and she’ll be expected there in the morning.
Before bed that night, John and Jennifer decide to Try for Baby since John wants another one. They hope their efforts are successful, though Jennifer won’t like being out of work for the pregnancy. They go to bed for the night after this, with Lucy already comfortable in her own bed.
The next morning, Dustin os still struggling with his acne, so he applies some cream to his face (also you may have noticed already, but his handcuffs never came off after he got busted sneaking out…I don’t know how to get them off)
Brandi is still meeting the people who walk past her house and has one lightning bolt with Komei Tellerman. She doesn’t know if it’ll go anywhere, she may still keep looking for someone better, but she does like him enough. He also gets along well with Beau.
Brandi works on teaching Skip how to talk. It’s hard with her motives so low all the time, and when they’re finally up Skip is ready for a nap or a bottle. Still, she wants him to grow up well so she’s going to put the effort in so he learns.
Beau on the other hand wants to increase his skill in something. He takes out a book from the bookshelf since he has a big interest in food, but at his age he can’t actually cook. His family can’t afford to get a kid’s oven so that’s out of the question, but he can still increase the skill well enough through books.
Brandi has to stop teaching Skip for a while to get her needs back up, so he decides to play with the xylophone on the lot. He really enjoys himself. He increased his creativity skill too!
Finally, as the night came to a close, Brandi and Dustin are fast asleep. Their needs are harder to keep up than the two littler ones. They have less responsibilities to handle throughout the day. They bond late that night when both of them are still awake, playing with one another and looking forward to the next day.
This is the end of my first week with the Broke family! I feel like it got less interesting later in the week, but hopefully there’ll be more in the next week. I really wanted to find someone for Brandi, but she can’t afford the matchmaker right now and no one had that many lightning bolts to have me too excited about their prospects with her. Hopefully someone comes along soon and she can get working on her family some more as well as getting herself a job. Next time Dustin will probably be eligible to go to college as well, with his teen years ending soon. Will he be able to maintain his grades enough to get in? and will he get any scholarships?
The next day, Brandi starts talking to the guys who pass by the house. She got the desire to get married again, but that wasn’t going to happen unless she met new people. None of them had great chemistry though, so they probably would only stay friends in the end.
Dustin comes home from school. It’s the end of the school week, and Dustin ends up increasing his grade a little. It still isn’t great though. His report card came back with a C. Overall, it’s passable, but he needs to work harder to try and get it higher. He also has to get working on some skills for his part time job. Brandi still hasn’t gotten any job, she’s decides to stay home with Skip until he’s a child. Then she’ll pursue a career. The family has enough funds saved up from Dustin’s job. Plus, recently, Dustin took a chance betting on a horse at work. It had 17:1 odds and he won big, bringing home $400.
After the elementary school gets out, Beau comes home ecstatic. He got his A+! He got a lot of lifetime reward points for this. He’s been working toward this goal.
As the evening went on, Beau finishes his homework, Dustin goes to work, and Skip ends up growing up into a toddler! Brandi is excited to see her son getting older. It (almost) makes her want another one! (She had a want to have a baby, but she also had a fear to have a baby. So she wants one but also really doesn’t.)

She puts him to bed shortly after. It’s getting late for a little one.
The next morning Brandi works on fixing up the house. It’s a disaster. Dustin did what he could when he was home, but Brandi wasn’t the cleanest and with her being so ill from her pregnancy, she wasn’t doing any of the cleaning at all. Now that she’d had little Skip, she started cleaning up all the old dishes, the bathtub, and even unclogging their toilet. She got really dirty through this process, but she got a bath shortly after.
Brandi spent some quality time with her new baby as well. After her bath, she fed him his bottle and snuggled him a little before putting him back down for a nap.
She also decides to make the boys breakfast as a treat. Since she’d been so sick, she hadn’t cooked a warm meal in a while, leaving that to Dustin or as leftovers in the fridge for them to eat at their leisure. She realizes she still had a lot of cleaning to do in the kitchen, and she plans to get that done, but she’s going to enjoy a family meal with her boys first.
The rest of the day went by rather uneventfully, but Dustin had some bad news when he got home. His report card showed his grades dropping. He knew he had to get them up as soon as possible, but he still had work again after school. On top of that, he got acne! This was not looking like a good day for him.
Once again, Beau works on his homework when he gets home. He didn’t finish it, stopping to play some games first, but he went back to it after he played with the pinball machine for a while. He really wants to get an A+ report card so he can show it off proudly.
After work, Dustin also begins to get his homework done. He has three booklets that needed finishing, but he’s determined to get it done. He sits there for hours after work, doing each assignment until his pile dwindled into nothing. He was proud of himself, and he hopes it’s enough to get his grades looking a little nicer.
The next day, Dustin almost sleeps through, but his mom wanted to make sure he got up in time, so he was woken up. He felt off though, having had a dream about his girlfriend’s sister. What was that about?
Meanwhile, Brandi makes some cereal for breakfast. She’s hungrier than ever with this baby on the way! (Also, I never noticed Bella Goth on the side of the carton as a missing person! I love it)
As the day progresses, Brandi struggles more and more with her needs. She ends up passing out in her soup later in the day, and Dustin comes home from school and finds her this way. There isn’t much he can do now though, he’s in a rush. He starts work soon! Brandi also wakes up shortly after falling asleep in her food, and her belly grows again! She’s still exhausted and hungry. She’s worried this will only get worse now that she’s progressed further into her pregnancy.
Later that night after he got done his work shift, Angela stopped by! He greeted her with a huge kiss and they made out for a while. Whatever his dream was last night, he’s not thinking about it now. He’s totally in love with Angela and is happy with her.
Brandi on the other hand is still struggling. She tried to get to bed, being exhausted and hungry but not being able to make anything in her state, but before she could make it, she passed out on the floor at the foot of her bed. She was just too tired to carry on anymore. Thankfully she landed on her back, so no damage came to the baby.
While his mom slept on the floor, Beau toddled along into the room. He looked at her briefly before he felt the change coming on. The next thing he knew, he was a child! He grew up well, which had him very happy. He needed a bath though, with all the stress his mom is under, she forgot to give him one today. Thankfully now he can give them to himself, so off he went to bathe and get ready for bed that night.
Wednesday
Brandi eventually woke up and made it to her bed in the night. She slept so soundly that she didn’t even hear the kids go off to school!
Later in the day, Dustin comes back from school only to get ready for work. His homework is piling up again, without any days off and how little his mom has been around, he doesn’t really have the time to spend on something that doesn’t really interest him. He still plans to try though.
Shortly after Dustin leaves for work, Beau comes home from his day at school. Unlike his brother, the first thing he does is get out the pen and paper and get started on his homework. He enjoys school and wants to keep learning!
Brandi goes into labor!! She’s excited for the new family member and hopeful that she’ll be able to pull herself together again once the baby is born.
he has a cute baby boy! She names him Skip after his late father. She really wishes he was here so he could see their new bundle of joy. (Note: I downloaded the Clean Premade EA/Maxis Neighborhoods so her baby has Skip’s genes as well as hers, unlike the premade neighborhood before, and also he isn’t predetermined to be a boy. It just happened to work out that way.)
Dustin gets home from work and immediately softens at the new baby. He loves the name he has and is happy to see he looks a lot like his father too. Blonde hair and blue eyes. Just like him and Beau. Seeing this new little boy made Dustin decide that he had to live to be great. If not for himself, then for his father. He would want Dustin to succeed in life, not work in the Criminal career track having to watch his back all the time. Still, he wasn’t going to quit until his mom got a job, especially with his new promotion, but he could get going with his homework.
So that’s what he does. But after such a long day, he really isn’t into it. He’s had no fun at all and quits rather quickly. He knows it’s bad for him, but he needs more time to get himself put together. He’ll do it. He’s sure of it. Just not tonight.
This is just going to be pictures and things that happen as I play through the different families in Pleasantview. I have some mods installed and might make a page on those. I also have lots of custom content. I don’t usually change the premade sims much (though I have default CC skin and eyes downloaded) but their children that are born as I play, or if someone ages up, I may edit their clothing and/or hair. I’ll be playing a week in each household and cycling through that way. When it comes to college, I wait until a teenage sim is on their last day of being a teenager before they call to move there. Then at the end of my cycle through each house I’ll play the University sims and then continue back into the normal neighborhood. Anyway this should cover it but if not I’ll add things as I go! First up is the Broke family
We all know how this story starts out. Brandi is a widowed mother of two. Her husband, Skip Broke, recently had an incident involving a pool ladder and passed away. This left her devastated and her eldest son to grow up very badly. He’s become somewhat of a delinquent, but deep down he has a kind heart and wants to be driven straight. With a little push, that just might happen! For now though, he’s currently employed as a Criminal, something Brandi doesn’t know. She suspects he might be employed in a less than ideal job, but she just doesn’t know the extent of it and currently can’t risk asking questions. She currently doesn’t have a job, having quit hers in a fit of rage one day. She plans to get another one once Beau grows up and is off to school, but things may or may not go exactly as she planned….
The game starts with Brandi and Dustin chatting for a while in the morning before school. She’s planning to try to teach Beau a few toddler things in the next few days, knowing that without those essential skills he’ll be in a bad spot once he becomes a child.
Dustin goes to get a few minutes of TV in before he heads off to school.
Brandi takes Beau to try to potty this morning. He was successful in going which had her very happy! He’s one step closer to being fully potty trained!
Afterward, Brandi ended up feeling nauseous and threw up. That’s weird, this hasn’t happened to her since her last pregnancy. Could it be?
After she cleans up after herself, Brandi gets back to helping Beau learn the essentials. They had already been working on walking for a while, and in no time at all, he’s wandering around the house all by himself! Brandi couldn’t be happier, and Beau is delighted.
Next she starts to work on his talking skills. They haven’t worked on this too much yet, so she knows it’s going to take a while.
Eventually Dustin comes home. He’s got a bad report card he hides from his mom. She knows though and stops teaching Beau for a while to go scold him about doing better in school. He’s very easily talked down, knowing his mom is right and he needs to work on his life more or he won’t be going anywhere. He’s still struggling, but he knows having someone on him about these things will help keep him in line.
Before he gets to schoolwork though, he hangs out with his girlfriend, Angela, who came home from school with him. They’ve been together for a little while and he’s smitten. He can’t wait for their first kiss. When they’re both left alone in his room because his mom goes to help Beau potty again, he finds his chance and sneaks it in. Angela is thrilled, and they kiss several more times before they stop.
Brandi puts Beau down for a nap. She’s really not feeling well today. She’s extra tired, hungry, and not comfortable at all. She goes to get some pizza to eat before she gets ready for a nap herself.
During her nap (and while I was working on Dustin and didn’t notice) Brandi realizes it’s true. She’s officially pregnant with her third child! She doesn’t know how to feel. On one hand she’s very excited. All she ever wanted was a big family with Skip. But on the other hand, his recent passing made this bittersweet and hard to swallow. She would be left with three children in a small trailer with no income all alone. She doesn’t know how she’ll do it, but she knows she has to.
Meanwhile, Dustin works on his homework outside to get a little fresh air. He doesn’t enjoy it, but after the lecture he got today he felt he had to get it done. Not to mention the fact that he and Angela are getting serious, and he knows she fully intends to go to college. He can’t have her going without him! So up his grades go to try to get him in too. Maybe he should apply for some scholarships? He doesn’t know if they’ll do him any good, especially with where he’s at right now, but if he works on it, he might be able to make do. Otherwise he’ll have to get a part time job while in school, which he isn’t opposed to, seeing as he does that now in high school.
After he’s done his homework, Beau wakes up from his nap. His mom is still sleeping, so Dustin gets him out of his crib and helps with working on his speech.
Shortly after, he gets a phone call from Angela. She wants to sneak out tonight. Dustin can’t resist the temptation of doing something bad and quickly agrees. They’ll meet at 1 AM.
Dustin goes to cook dinner seeing as his mom is still asleep, but with how low of a skill he has in this, he only ends up burning it. Still, he eats what he makes because that’s all there is right now. He also gets a bottle for little Beau, not wanting him to go hungry.

Shortly after, Dustin gets caught by the police. He’s very sad about this outcome. It put a sour end to what was such a fun and exciting night. Still, his mom is asleep so he’s able to go into the house without suspicion and get right to sleep. He’d have to be up early tomorrow if he planned to go to school…
So this is it for now. Day 1 was a long one. I might not take as many pictures as I did for this day, I’m still working out the best way to do this. It’s not necessarily a story like others have done, it’s more so sharing how my sims progress and the way their lives go. I’ve always loved the premade sims in sims 2, so I’m really glad to be playing them again! I hope to also be able to share my sims’ lives in other games too, both Sims 3 and 4 someday. But for now, I’m sticking to Pleasantview/The Sims 2!
